CBSE Releases Important Guidelines for the Rescheduled Class 12 Board Exams

The CBSE (Central Board for Secondary Examinations) has announced a set of guidelines for holding of the pending class 10 and class 12 examinations which had been rescheduled due to the nationwide lockdown. These examinations will now be held from July 1 to July 15 it was earlier announced.

The most important thing to note in the set of these guidelines is students who travelled to their home districts from the cities due to the lock down can now appear their exams from a nodal examination centre near to their homes. The number of examination centres for the CBSE class 10 and class 12 board exams has been increased to 15000 from 2000 planned earlier.

The announcements stated that candidates would be able to sit for the pending exams in their respective schools. However those candidates who have moved to a different location on account of the lockdown could appear at a special nodal centre which shall be set up all districts where there are CBSE schools.

However the CBSE authorities made it clear that no centres would be allowed in the Covid19 containment zones. Candidates residing in the containment zones would have to appear at a different centre allotted to him/her outside the containment zone.

Any requests by candidates for change of examination centre shall be accepted by the CBSE if only such requests were made through their school. Schools have been instructed to inform students the latest guidelines though the e-pariksha portal on CBSE website between June 3 and 11. “Permission Letters” will be issued by the CBSE to the schools to forward it to students who will have carry these permission letters to their exam centres.
