What this is

A residential camp.
Not a holiday.

For five days your child trains twice a day on floodlit surfaces in the Himalayan foothills, under an England qualified technical advisor and a former I-League professional.

They wake at a fixed hour. They train. They eat food cooked in our own kitchen. They rest in the afternoon, because that is when children actually grow. They train again. They sleep early.

One morning is off the pitch and up in the hills. On Tuesday they play in the Inspiria Winter Cup against local school sides, with a qualified referee and a trophy. On Wednesday they come home better than they arrived, with a written report from the coaches.

Who looks after your child

The people behind the camp

Richard Chamberlain

Richard Chamberlain

Technical Advisor · England

From Leicestershire in the UK, Richard brings over twenty years of coaching experience and runs fortnightly master sessions at the academy, bringing European coaching methods into how our players are developed. He is also involved in grassroots football work in Manipur. He sets the method for the camp and works with both age groups every day.

Coached by age, not all together

Under 12 and Under 15 train separately, with the same method and a different load. A nine year old is never asked to compete physically against a fourteen year old. They eat, travel and celebrate together.

Nagen Tamang

Nagen Tamang

Head Coach

Kurseong born, a former I-League player and an AIFF ‘D’ Licence coach. He runs the sessions on the ground, morning and evening, for all five days.

Sushovan Gupta

Sushovan Gupta

HOD · Sports Management

His department runs the camp’s logistics, operations and player welfare. He is the first person to call about registration, travel, or anything that is not football.

Neehar R N

Neehar R N

Head of Sports

He leads sport across the campus and runs the camp day to day with Sushovan, on campus for all five days.

The BBA Sports Management department team at Inspiria Knowledge Campus

Sports Management

Students from the BBA Sports Management Department at Inspiria Knowledge Campus, women and men, support the running of the camp under the direct supervision of Sushovan and Neehar. Girl volunteers from the department are with the squad through the week.

03

What they learn

A curriculum, not five days of kickabout

Five coached pitch sessions, a morning off the pitch, a video analysis evening and a full tournament day. Every session has a written plan and a point.

  • 01

    Ball mastery

Both feet. Close control at speed.

  • 02

    First touch under pressure

Receiving with someone on your back.

  • 03

    Passing and position

Rondos. Finding space before the ball arrives.

  • 04

    One against one

Beating a defender. Stopping a forward.

  • 05

    Finishing

Composure in front of goal, on both feet.

  • 06

    Game intelligence

Small sided games and video review.

They go home with this

On Wednesday, Richard and Nagen hand every child a written report: what they do well, the two things to work on, and how to work on them at home.

The floodlit football field and covered futsal court at Inspiria Knowledge Campus at dusk

Where they train

The lights come on at 4:45

A football field sized for age group football, and a full size futsal court. A futsal court is small, hard and fast — a child touches the ball many times more often than on a big field and has far less time to decide. In Siliguri in mid December the daylight goes at about 4:45. Both surfaces are floodlit, so your child trains in proper light, not fading light.

Where they stay

Ten rooms. One floor. Thirty children.

Your child sleeps in our luxury residence on the Inspiria campus. Three children share a room and a king size bed, with an attached bathroom, hot water and heating.

Every room is on the same floor. No other floors, no other guests. Thirty children and their coaches, one corridor. That is why the cap is thirty — it is the number of places on that floor, not a marketing number.

Housekeeping cleans daily and kit is washed by us every day. The residence sits inside the campus gate, manned round the clock with CCTV. A member of our staff sleeps on the same corridor, every night.

What they eat

Five meals a day, cooked here

Children training twice a day burn a great deal. Water and rehydration salts on the pitch at every session. Everything is cooked in our own campus kitchen. Nothing is ordered in. No street food, no cold storage meat, no packaged juice. Drinking water is RO filtered and tested, and the kitchen is inspected daily by our own team.

Vegetarian, Jain, egg free and allergy specific plates are cooked separately and served by name. Tell us on the form and we handle it without your child having to ask.

Breakfast
Poha or paratha, eggs, fruit, milk
Mid morning
Bananas, dates, nuts
Lunch
Rice, dal, vegetable, chicken or paneer, curd
After training
Sandwiches, a milkshake, fruit
Dinner
Roti, sabzi, dal, salad and a sweet
Dawn above the clouds on the Kurseong hills — the morning hike up to Giddapahar

One morning off the pitch

Through the tea gardens, up to Giddapahar.

Out of Chunbhatti at first light, up through the tea estate above Kurseong, back on campus for lunch. Staff walk at the back, a vehicle waits at the bottom, so nobody is left behind.

09

Questions parents ask

Everything you want to know

Who is this for?
Boys and girls in the Under 12 and Under 15 age groups who already play football. Your child does not need to be in an academy, but should be comfortable playing a full match. If your child is a complete beginner, call us and our coaches will tell you honestly.
Why only thirty?
There are ten rooms on one floor and three children to a room. Thirty is the number of places, not a marketing number. It also keeps us at one coach to every ten children on the pitch.
What is the final amount I pay?
₹ 50,000 plus GST of ₹ 9,000, a total of ₹ 59,000. There is nothing to pay after that. The full fee is payable at registration and the place is held only once payment reaches us.
Will my child actually get to play?
Every child plays in every match their team plays, on rolling substitutions. That is a rule we hold the coaches to.
How do the children travel?
The whole squad travels together with Inspiria FC staff, out on 19 December and back on 23 December. Travel is included. Mode is premium train or flight — we confirm the mode, timings and reporting point once registration closes, and send written instructions at least three weeks before departure.
Who can collect my child on the return?
Only the adult you name on the form, carrying photo ID, who signs for them. Nobody else, including a driver, unless named in advance in writing.
Where do the children sleep?
In our luxury residence on campus. Three children to a room, sharing a king size bed, with an attached bathroom, hot water and heating. Every room is on the same floor, so the whole squad and their coaches share one corridor.
Are boys and girls separated?
Yes. Girls have their own rooms, and a female staff member is on the floor every night to look after them.
What if my child gets injured or falls ill?
A nurse is on campus full time and there is a first aid infirmary on site. An ambulance is stationed on campus all week. For anything serious we have a tie-up with Neotia Getwel Multispecialty Hospital, five minutes from the gate. We call you before we do anything beyond ice and a plaster.
My child has an allergy.
Write it on the form in detail. That child’s plate is cooked separately and the kitchen and coaches both hold the list. Send medicine with written instructions.
How will I know my child is fine?
A WhatsApp group for all parents with a photo and a line about the day, plus your child’s own call home each evening. Phones stay in the room during training, meals and the rest hour.
Can I come and watch?
Yes. Tuesday is the day to come. Tell us in advance so we can seat you.
What if I cancel?
A 50% refund applies for cancellations from the date of booking until 15 November. No refund after 15 November, but you may pass the place to another child in the same age group. If we cancel, you get a full refund, no deductions, within seven working days.
Coming from outside Kolkata?
Some families join us at Siliguri. Tell us and we will arrange the pick up from the airport or station at no extra cost.
