Hindi is a standardized and sanskritised register of the Hindustani Language. Modern Hindi Language is the national language of India. Hindi is the fourth most-widely spoken language of the world.
Hindi Diwas is celebrated across the country on 14th September every year, to celebrate the historic occasion of remembering the national language. Celebrating Hindi Diwas was started in the historic occasion of the language being approved as the official language by the Constituent Assembly on 14th September, 1949.
The occasion is celebrated throughout India to show the importance of the language in the Country. The language in the country has a big history which belongs to the Indo-Aryan Branch of Indo-European language family. After independence the Government of India made a goal to standardize the mother tongue, i.e. Hindi with grammar and orthography. Devanagari script is used to bring uniformity in writing the national language. It is spoken in many countries of the World with about 258 million people speaking it.
Hindi Diwas is celebrated in the Schools, Colleges, Offices and Organizations with unique programmes and competitions organized related to the language. Hindi is the best mode of communication amongst people of India thus. It should be promoted. Awards are distributed on this day by the President of India to the people for their superiority in different fields related to Hindi at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
