MAKAUT (formerly known as WBUT) announced on 4th May 2018, that it is mandatory for every applicant to appear for CET exams in order to seek admission in any MAKAUT affiliated college
What is CET?
Common Entrance Test, commonly known as CET is a competitive exam conducted by state or central education body which allows students to pursue any professional degree course in various domains.
How to apply for CET
Students willing to appear for CET 2018 exams have to fill the online form (Link: http://cet.eadmissions.net/) with all the required details, post which they will receive their CET admit card allowing them to appear for the exam. The students need to pay a sum of Rs. 600/- to submit their filled up form.
CET Eligibility
Applicant applying for CET exam must have appeared/passed 10+2 from any State or any Central board (CBSE/ISC).
There are total 5 groups in which one can apply for:
- Group A (Candidate must have English in 10+2)
- Group B (Candisiate should have English / Mathematics/ Statistics/Business Mathematics / Informatics Practice / IT /Computer Science/ Computer Application at the 10+2 level.)
- Group C (Candidate should have English, Physics, and Chemistry along with Mathematics or Biology at 10+2 level)
- Group D and E (Candidate should have passed /appeared in 3 years Bachelor’s Degree course)
CET Syllabus
CET is a written based objective type examination with duration of two hours having three sections:
- English
- Mathematics
- Logical Reasoning
Students qualifying this test will have to further appear for GD and PI. Finally, students will be called for counseling where they will be presented with a list of colleges based on their rank.
CET 2018 Exam Date
The last date to fill the online form is 23rd May 2018, and the exam will be conducted on 3rd June 2018
