Difference Between BBA and BBA Entrepreneurship: Over the years Business courses have seen a huge popularity in India. Today, reports show that the country is home to around Ten Thousand Business Schools. According to a popular edusite there are about 9,100 Business & Management schools (colleges) in India out of which 7% are public/private, 15% public/government and the remaining 78% are completely private. These numbers help us estimate the rough amount of students who either aspire to or are already pursuing Business Studies.

There are a number of different courses both diploma and degree programs offering business studies (including undergraduate & postgraduate). Among the sea of options the most sought after courses these days are BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) and BBA Entrepreneurship. Students when opting for business studies often get confused around these two, as to which one to choose. Since Entrepreneurship is a relatively new course the confusion is only normal. So what is the difference between BBA and BBA Entrepreneurship? Let’s find out!

BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration)

Bachelor of Business Administration is an undergraduate degree programme which deals with business & management studies. The course consists of theoretical and practical knowledge of business management, equipping students with all the inside details of the industry. It deals with fundamentals as well as the ever evolving aspects of modern day business and its management. The course helps students develop business acumen and learn necessary managerial skills.

BBA is among the most pursued undergraduate studies after class 12th in India thanks to the door of career opportunities it opens. After graduating with BBA students can easily get hired in corporations and enter the workforce early. This also helps many business aspirants to simultaneously opt for MBA (Master of Business Administration) as they work. The course deals with all things business and its management with major subjects like Management, Economics, Business Mathematics, Statistics, Finance & accounting etc being taught. Other subjects in the study also include Business Laws, Organizational Behaviour, Marketing, e-Commerce, Research Methodology etc.
BBA is a three year degree program which can be pursued in three ways – Full Time BBA, Part Time BBA and Online BBA. A full time BBA requires students to physically be a part of the curriculum for the designated 3 years. A part time BBA on the other hand doesn’t require students to be physically present in the institutions. The course curriculum of a part time BBA also slightly differs from the fulltime. Online BBA only includes a handful of BBA subjects as it was developed with a goal to make students understand only the very basics of business administration.

BBA Eligibility Criteria

To get admission in BBA candidates must have passed class 12th from a recognised board in any stream with a minimum aggregate of 50%. Some premium business schools ask for a minimum aggregate of 60% or more. Depending on the university or college candidates may have to sit for an entrance exam or admission interview.

BBA Entrepreneurship

BBA Entrepreneurship may seem the same as BBA on the surface level but it is totally different from the latter. You see BBA is the foundation of Business Studies which has a number of specializations among which, probably the most recent one catching the eyes of a lot of students is BBA Entrepreneurship. It is also a three year degree program as BBA but the course wholly focuses on Entrepreneurship as the name suggests. The course introduces students to business management all the while preparing them to understand entrepreneurial concepts and develop entrepreneurial mindset. It mainly focuses on aspects of innovation and its scalability with the ultimate goal being aspirants starting their own businesses.

Over the period of three years students learn all the know-hows of being an entrepreneur. This includes idea incubation, learning to market the business, learning the financial as well as social aspects of business, learning about legal aspects of business, about the sources of capital etc. BBA Entrepreneurship also teaches students some valuable entrepreneurial skills such as analytical skills, strategic thinking, planning skills, teamwork and leadership skills, critical thinking along with other essential business skills.
Some of the subjects taught in BBA Entrepreneurship apart from the core BBA ones are Analysis & Design of Business System, Venture Management, Personal Financial Planning, Entrepreneurial Resource Management, International Business Management, Business Policy & Strategic Management etc.

BBA Entrepreneurship Eligibility Criteria
