The 30-seater cafe with the rustic laid back ambience is perfect for both hangout sessions with friends or even sitting quietly with a good book and a hot cup of coffee. Inaugurated on the 21st of July, it is run by the students of the hospitality department, to further enhance their entrepreneurship and managerial skills.
The design approach-
The interior design of the cafe has a tranquil ambience that acts like a fresh breeze of air amid the hustle and bustle of the campus. The rectangular semi-open space with double-height ceiling lets in ample natural light and ventilation keeping the cafe bright and coruscating all throughout the day.
The color palate is subtle, majorly consisting of light chroma and dark browns with touches of vibrant red and blues thrown in-between. The design has a sublime vernacular appeal with most of the building materials within the cafe is locally sourced. The use of cane on the roof and light fixtures and the plants of the cafe is a nod toward a sustainable design approach. The flooring comprises tiles with decorative embellishing which breaks the monotony of the space, yet the focal point of the cafe is the wall opposite the display counter with the vibrant graffiti etched into the.
The words on the graffiti-“do what you love” reflect the purpose of the cafe as well as the motto of the entire campus giving acting as a constant source of inspiration for whoever steps into the cafe.
