With the consecutive stage of the 4th nationwide lockdown, the Board authorities have finally come to a conclusion to conduct the pending CBSE Board Exams in respective CBSE affiliated schools. With the growing cases of COVID-19 pandemic in India, the nation was bound to undergo the third and fourth phase of lockdown after Bharat Bandh and the abrupt imposition of 21days of nationwide lockdown thereafter.
Today, as the country enters the 62nd day of nationwide lockdown, CBSE Board has finally confirmed the rearranged examination venues for the CBSE class 10 & 12 board examinees. The officially cited report from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) officials, the board exam candidates of class 10 and 12 will henceforth write the remaining board exams at their respective schools.
Generally, board exams irrespective of board privatized or government-run institutions, are conducted at the venues designated by the authorities. Contrary to the norms of writing exams in the designated external venues, this time the students will be appearing for the pending subject papers for the CBSE 2020 class 10 and 12 boards at their own schools in which they are enrolled. The said decision is finalized with due consideration approved by the HRD Ministry.
The Objective Of Conducting The Pending CBSE Board Exams Internally:
The decision of conducting the pending board exams in the respective CBSE affiliated schools is finalized so to ensure minimum travel for the candidates. Another reason for terminating the external examination venues is to ensure zero discrimination to the candidates from other schools. Furthermore, the decision is being made in order to permit the external and independent invigilators to oversee the examination process.
Social Distancing Norms While Conducting Exams Amid The Peak Of Pandemic:
Likewise, each CBSE affiliated school will take accountability for ensuring proper social distancing norms throughout the examination. Each student should carry their own bottle of sanitizer, and wearing a face mask is mandatory for all. The Board had earlier announced the new date sheet for the pending class 10 and 12 board exams which will be commenced from 1st July 2020 to 15th July 2020.
CBSE New 12th Datesheet 2020 for Remaining Exams
The Board has assured the conducting of the remaining exams with strict social distancing norms. Only 10 students will be allotted in one classroom. The finalized dates are scheduled in order to ensure that board exams are conducted before the major entrance exams like JEE-Mains(18th July – 23rd July and NEET(July 26).
The Board has further announced the resumption and continuity of the evaluation work for the exams that were conducted before the announcement of nationwide lockdown. Besides, the Ministry is also striving to declare the CBSE 2020 board exam results by the end of July.
In a hindsight, CBSE Class 10 and 12 Board Exams were postponed due to the first nationwide lockdown, which was imposed on 25th March 2020 to curb the spread of coronavirus pandemic. The drastic sweep of COVID-19 across the country compelled for a sudden nationwide lockdown which resulted in the closure of the educational sector including the closure of business firms including public services like transport, malls, offices, multiplex, and so on.
Initially, the future and the education of students seemed to be at risk, but thanks to the technological progression and the promotion of all the web-enabled devices! Now, even while the pandemic shuts down the educational buildings, e-learning has emerged as the new normal.
