The excitement was in the air as the students of hospitality management at Inspiria Knowledge Campus were treated to a workshop on wine tasting on 21st February. Mr.Soham Poddar, senior executive in Tasting and Marketing, hosted the Sula wine tasting session in front of a large number of faculty members with our second batch of Hospitality Management BBM (H) students.
Wine is an important item in cuisine not just as a beverage but also as a flavoring agent. For example, it is used in the form of wine sauce after reducing the wine for preparing a sauce. Mr. Poddar also added that the main active ingedient of wine is alcohol. Since drinking small quantities of wine is good for health, there will be a decreased risk of heart disease, cancer etc on drinking wine.
It was a very engaging and educational session with excitement in the air as it commenced with a welcome note addressing the broad interest areas of the students.
Mr. Poddar spoke on how the term “Sula” became popular as a label. He then went on to give a brief description of wine making process with different brands of Sula that are currently on offer in the market for sale and consumption. He also showed the ways of handling wine glasses. The presentation looked fabulous with the uncorking of different wines like red and white.
