InspiriaQ, the inter-school quiz contest by Inspiria Knowledge Campus, Siliguri was a huge success with over 32 teams participating in the event for the semi-final round. The teams were from Siliguri, Darjeeling Hills, Sikkim, Dooars and Jalpaiguri. There were over 150 participants for the semi-final round. From the 32 teams the top 6 were selected for the fun-filled and eventful finals.
The contest started at 10:30am at the Inspiria Campus. It started with the lighting of the lamp ceremony by various dignitaries who were there to grace the occasion. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Subrata Sarkar, Indian Revenue Service, Commissioner of Income Tax and Mr. Jag Mohan, Commissioner of Police, Siliguri Commissionarate who were the Chief Guests for the occasion.
The quiz was hosted by Mr. Gautam Bose, CEO, Greycells. He is master at hosting quizzes and knowledge based programmes. He interacted with the participants and the audience in such a manner that it enthralled everyone present. The six teams that qualified for the finals from the 32 teams were: Techno Model School-Siliguri, Army Public School -Bengdubi, St. Xaviers School -Pakyong (Sikkim), Birla Divya Jyoti School-Siliguri, St. Joseph’s School- Darjeeling and Don Bosco School-Siliguri. It was a close fight amongst the teams but as the rule goes “ONLY ONE WINS”.
Gautam Bose said that he had not got very many opportunities to quiz in Siliguri and North Bengal but the quality of students in the region has always attracted and amazed him. It shows the dearth of opportunities for the students in the region to showcase their talent at a big stage. Inspiria Knowledge Campus brought a world class event to the region for the school students through InspiriaQ inter-school quiz competition, 2014.
There were three teams which were chosen as eventual winners after the finale. They were: St. Joseph’s School-Darjeeling, the 2nd Runners Up who won themselves a trophy, certificates, goodies from Wai Wai for each team member and a cash reward of Rs. 3, 000. The 1st Runners Up, Don Bosco School, Siliguri who bagged themselves a trophy, certificates, Rs. 6,000 cash reward and a smart phone for each team member sponsored by SiP Abacus, Siliguri. The Winners, Army Public School, Bengdubi won themselves a cool cash prize of Rs. 10, 000, certificates, Winner Trophy and an Android Tablet for each member of the winning team which was sponsored by Digi Tech, Siliguri. A certain portion of the cash prize for all the winning teams was sponsored by Amul.
The four months of relentless hardwork by the team at Inspiria spearheaded by Principal, Inspiria Knowledge Campus, Prof. Indrajeet Chatterjee along with the initiative and support of Mr. Atul Gupta, Managing Trustee, Inspiria Knowledge Campus and CEO & Founder Insync Solutions, Mr. Rahul Gupta, Manager Operations Inspiria and Mr. Rakesh Mondal, Ceative Head, Inspiria resulted the event to pan out into a super successful one. It left everyone mesmerized and wanting a little more. It was an annual event from Inspiria which would be back next year with a bigger bang. People witnessing the event in person hoped to see such more events in future.
