The mecca of Fashion study in India, the NIFT Delhi was the first National Institute of Fashion established in 1986. The campus initially started functioning from a temporary two-room set-up in its formative years and shifted to a full-fledged campus in 1994. 7. Northern Indian Institute of Fashion Technology, Mohali

Founded in 1995 the Institute offers both PG and UG-level courses. It was ranked 19 for Private Fashion Design by India Today 2020 and ranked 9 for Fashion Design by Outlook 2019. The curriculum of NIIFT is based on “learning by doing”. Apart from Mohali, NIIFT has two other centres which are located in Ludhiana and Jalandhar.

Courses Offered: NIIFT Mohali offers BSc in Fashion and Textile design, MSc in Garment Manufacturing Technology and Fashion Marketing and Management. The duration of BSc programme is three years, whereas MSc and MDes programmes are offered for a duration of two years each.
