The International Cat Day was founded in 2002 by the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and other Animal Rights Groups. Cats have always been associated with humans for the last 9,500 years approximately. At this point of time Cats are the most popular pets of the world.
Cats are actually social animals who are solitary hunters using various vocalizations and body gestures to communicate. According to research reports owing a cat as a pet improves the psychological health of the person who gets emotional support and companionship.
It is said that women are more affectionate towards cats as pets but recent studies have dispelled the idea stating that both the genders are equally loving towards the animal.
