Inspiria Model United Nations: Shaping tomorrow’s leaders

With an aim to create significance and effectiveness of diplomacy, the ethos of international relations and the principles of the United Nations; the Inspiria Knowledge campus initiated its first edition of INMUN (Inspiria Model United Nations) on the 21st of September 2022 on campus.

Students from across NorthBengal showed their participation and shared ideas from a diverse set of experiences and backgrounds where the Executive Board, International Press and International Delegates consolidated to learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations.

What is Model United Nations?

Model United Nations is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real-world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country. These conferences are organized by universities, high schools, non-profit organizations, and other educational groups.

Model UN is a valuable experience that can help you get into college, find your first job, and become inspired to change the world.

The first day of the conference went incredibly well. The event started with the opening ceremony where the Cheif coordinator Rahul Gupta and Principle Indrajit Chatterjee shared some words of wisdom to amp up the spirit among contestants. The ceremony also featured activities like singing to break the monotony of the event. Finally, Arko Jyoti, the secretary general of INMUN announced the event open.

The first day of the conference went incredibly well. With each committee having a fruitful debate and innovative solutions not only to their agenda but to various crises thrown their way.

Inspiria Model United Nations had 6 committees in total with assigned agendas for each to overcome.

Committee session 2 began at 3 P.M, with South Africa with the decided agenda being the economic crisis in Afghanistan, as a consequence of which the humanitarian crisis had emerged. The Delegates representing each country emphasized the fact that the markets are open, but the people do not have enough cash to purchase essentials, and also expressed concern regarding women being more likely to go to bed hungry than their male counterparts.

The second day of the conference was a political rollercoaster with each committee having fruitful debates and coming up with innovative solutions not only to their agenda but to various crises thrown their way.

The main objective behind Inspiria Model United Nations was to make learning more enjoyable, and what can be more enjoyable than assuming the persona of world leaders and trying to save the world? In conclusion, INMUN was successful in achieving its objective of providing an open platform for debate and discussion with the help of our dedicated faculty members and dedicated Inspirians. We look forward to continuing to host INMUN and seeing young minds blossom into tomorrow’s leaders.
