Amit Agarwal, a second Year BBA student of Inspiria Knowledge Campus, has been selected by the Government of India’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship as one of the Top Ten Young Entrepreneurs with a vision to change India. In recognition of this rare achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will felicitate Amit along with the other awardees at a special programme at Rashtrapati Bhavan on the 28th of September this year.
The Entrepreneurship Programme initiated by the Centre’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship began three weeks ago and included a section where budding entrepreneurs were required to submit a “disrupting and innovative plan” with full market correspondence that would address a core problem faced by markets in India.

Amit proposed the idea of his innovative company UPCART which has the vision to deliver a robust and innovative solution to the problem of luggage carriage and movement up and down stairways. Carrying heavy luggage up and down fleets of stairs where there are no elevators has always been a cumbersome affair, especially when people are in a hurry. UPCART aims to address this very problem through a smooth, user-friendly strategy.

Team UpCart at NASSCOM E-Summit
On the 21st of May, Amit’s proposal was ranked 112 among a submission of 21, 08,000 ideas. Subsequently, Amit received a call from the ministry asking him for details about his scheme which he did. A visibly happy Amit informed that two days back he received a formal letter from the Ministry informing him of his selection as one of the top ten young entrepreneurs of India.
The Managing Trustee of Inspiria Knowledge Campus, Mr Atul Gupta expressed happiness at Amit’s achievement and said producing students like Amit who gain practical insight in addition to textbook knowledge was the main focus of this institution. At Inspiria, the idea was to deliver practical industry-relevant skills that match current industry demands to enable students to make themselves innovative, productive and employable, Mr Gupta added.
Amit will visit New Delhi in September to receive his award where he will get an opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
