THE CHAOTIC CITY ‘DELHI’ Many of us have wanderlust running through our veins yet we remain strangled in the obligations of our daily lives.

It was in the initial days of February our college and faculty had planned for an Industrial visit to Delhi for the BMS Department to see how the industry works in metropolitan cities.

The endlessly fascinating capital of the country, ‘Dilwalon ki Dilli’ just acts as a magnet, attracting people worldwide. The city displays the perfect blend of old-world charm and contemporary dynamism.

There’s no escaping the fact that Delhi can be a little overwhelming.

We started our journey on 27th February from Bagdogra airport. The excitement and enthusiasm were sparking in everyone’s face. We grabbed our luggage and headed towards our hostel. A bus was booked for our convenience and words would fall less if I start writing about the fun we had on the bus, all-dancing, yelling, and singing. We were accommodated in a youth hostel. Likewise, on our first day in Delhi, we had an industrial visit to a local media channel in Noida ‘HINDI KHABAR‘ and a session with senior journalist Atul Agarwal Sir. It was an insightful session with him and also got an understanding of how a professional setup of media works in the industry.

After such a productive day, we went to Connaught Place which is a shopping and entertainment hub. Connaught Place also known as Rajiv Chowk is one of New Delhi’s key financial, commercial, and business districts and also a hub for specialty and multi-cuisine restaurants and fast-food joints, here you will find ample good places to satisfy your stomach, for any budget and preference.

On the second day, we had to travel to Agra. Yes, you guessed it right, we were heading towards the Iconic and beautiful piece of art ‘TAJ MAHAL‘ and words can never be enough to describe the beauty of this landmark of eternal love.

We, humans, experience great peace and harmony when visiting a temple, with enchanting sounds of bells and mantras. There are numerous temples situated throughout the city, from ancient to new, all with beautiful architecture that calms one’s mind and soul. That’s how we landed at Vrindavan, Prem Mandir at Mathura.

Delhi is all about enjoying authentic, traditional Indian food while taking advantage of many of the delicious restaurants and food the city has to offer.

Who doesn’t love adventure? Of Course, the word adventure takes us back to our childhood days. Adventure Island in Rohini is the best place to hang out in North West Delhi. There are amazing rides with water all-round the place.

It was our 4th day in Delhi and the day started with fantastic weather, the sun was shining & it was a pleasant day. We booked the tickets and got in. There were multiple rides, water parks, malls. After a tiring and delightful day, it was almost 7 in the evening so we had to return back to the hostel. We got on the bus and we thought we would sleep but surprisingly everyone started singing, dancing on the bus.

The next day, we had an industrial visit to Jamia Millia Islamia University and a counseling session with Naved sir, professor of the psychology department in Jamia University about career development. We were taken to the mass communication department of Jamia to get an insight into the production house, news studio and had a conversation with the faculty of the mass communication department.

We also visited a few news channels in Noida like The Indian Express and India Today institute. The Indian Express is an English-language Indian daily newspaper that presents its news digitally as well as through newspapers. We got the overall view of the India Today newsroom and we saw how digitally everything works there. We were briefed about the journalistic overview of the industry field. So that’s how productive was our day 5. The day was filled with great learning experiences.

The trip was almost at the end and how could we miss the most important thing to do in Delhi and that’s shopping in Sarojini. Girls went crazy that day. We got ready and hopped to Sarojini Market. If you haven’t shopped at Sarojini Nagar Market then you’re definitely doing your shopping wrong. There’s nothing on your list that Sarojini Nagar Market doesn’t have. Trust us when we claim that Sarojini offers everything you need to update your wardrobe.

Apart from that, if you’re looking to redecorate your area, Sarojini also features home design goods that can transform your space into a work of art. It’s often claimed that historical sites have their own souls, and we couldn’t agree more. There are sites that take you back in time; monuments with more stories to tell and architecture where history speaks to you in every corner and crevice. Wondering where you might have such a memorable and one-of-a-kind encounter with history? Then you must go to Delhi! On any given day, our nation’s capital is a fascinating destination that provides a full dose of history, legacy, culture, and tradition.

Keeping this in our mind, we thought of stepping into a few monuments and reliving the history. We hopped into a few monuments like Qutub Minar, Red fort, India gate, Humayun Tomb, etc. However, to everything, there is an end, and sadly our trip ended too. The 8 days were fun-filled and a great experience for all of us. Throughout this trip, we learned how to stay together and accept each other. We came back with a lot of knowledge, life lessons, and memories to cherish forever.
